Summer Immersion Week 2023

We at the North American Gaeltacht, the only recognized Gaeltacht area outside Ireland, are again happy to invite you to our summer immersion week, happening between the 14-19th of August, 2023. Our new schedule was well received and we are going to be having even more improvements (afternoon language classes, a childrens' class, and the céilí being part).

Language Classes

Throughout the week there will be Irish language classes at separate levels for complete beginners through to fluent speakers in a fully Gaelic atmosphere that will give a chance for learners to practice their language skills outside of the classroom.

Children between age 4-12 will be welcome to our kids’ class each morning during the week.

It is our goal that every learner will be at ease to speak their Irish, however much or little, in a relaxing atmosphere.

Workshops

Along with that, cultural workshops will be available. We are very pleased to (tentatively) announce a dry stone wall workshop this year, with Dry Stone Canada.

"Our workshops are designed to be a learning opportunity for anyone interested in the art and craft of dry stone. To participate, you do not need any particular skill, or tools, or feel you may not be strong enough. As long as you are interested in learning you will be able to do this."

Along with this, Máistir Maxime Chouinard, chief instructor of Antrim Bata, will be teaching the basics of the Irish stickfighting martial art.

Registration is required (closing July 31st in consideration of the caterer).

Camp on the site to get the full immersive experience. We also have a list of local accommodations available, email us at info@gaeilge.ca to enquire

Breakfasts and catered dinners included each day.

Be sure to check out any library books you are interested in for pickup at the Gaeltacht summer week!

We are offering a unique opportunity for immersive learning with classes and a workshop each day. Summer Immersion Week is the perfect opportunity to have a Gaeltacht experience!
